Shifting gears this morning from GoodNight book to production work on family movie. Normally when I produce a feature, I debut it on a family zoom call. Most if not all of the video is a complete surprise to the family. Not my family documentary. I’ve traded notes and had conversations with some of the family already about the story. For example, I already have a 3 min section that’s close to final (at least until I get the entire film produced) that I’ve showed a couple of times. Reviews have been awesome. I’ve got the right ideas cooking.
The toughest part of production is the content. My mind races with ideas. I capture those ideas and add them to the storyboard. Then search for the supporting music, video, and photos to support the story. It’s challenging because I usually want the section to be fully produced before I move to the next one. Maybe that will change over time, but it’s my habit now to work in order.
We are expecting a cold front this weekend. I’m not working at the church so I plan to spend most of the weekend producing more movie content. I’m excited to complete the sports section (up to five minutes and then move to the next chapter (probably entertainment, maybe world history. Gotta think through what makes sense and what the flow would be. would it make sense to move from easy (sports, entertainment,) to more serious subjects like religion, world & family history, philosophy?
How is philosophy different from religion or history? TBD
More to come.
Blessings,
Thomas
